After airing the story of the teen who had spent some time on a ranch in Oregon County convicted of killing a woman near Sedalia last year, I received a email from the owner of the Masters Ranch Ministry explaining better what happened. He said That Noah Kelliker was at the home several years ago, He said Noah did not have a dad in his life or a mother. He had one loving Aunt who tried to save him from the drugs he was involved in Independence Missouri. He got cleaned up and on track at the ranch and even went to the local high school for a while with love and praise from everyone. He left here at 17 years of age During that time Noah had no parents to go home to and found himself back on drugs dealing with some very unsavory people in the Kansas City area. And this drug deal gone wrong he committed an unspeakable crime. He did not know who was behind the door when he shot through it. He was not living at the Ranch nor had he been for a couple of years. Having nowhere else to go he fled after the incident 6 hours south to our Ranch and confessed what happened. The Ranch cooperated with authorities and he was arrested a few hours later on our property.
The Owner of the Ranch said that this is exactly why they do what they do and if it weren’t for their ministry there would be a lot more of this going on.
The Owner said “I am a parent like you are and though I’m appalled at where sin took Noah and where he is at now I love that boy with all my heart and will never cease praying for him”
He also said “If you could have seen him before drugs got him again you would have known a great young man. By 16 years of age he had grown his own small cattle operation from 1 to 36 cows and really had a bright future”
When the story aired I never meant to insinuate that Masters Ranch Did anything wrong, I simply stated that he had stayed at the ranch and that he had been convicted on murder charges which are both true. I did not say that ranch did anything wrong.
