In January we aired a story about concerns of the citizens in Mammoth Spring that the Mammoth Spring Food pantry would be closing. At that time we talked to Mayor Charles Vaughn who told us that the city can not because of municipal law allow the pantry to operate out of a city facility. He also said that they hoped they could find a way to continue the distribution. This past Friday the Mammoth Spring Food Pantry announced that their final distribution will be on Monday February 18th. On the food pantry Facebook page they say that the closure is due to not being able to commit to a monthly fee.
