Name of Man Injured In An Officer Involved Shooting In Sharp County Is Released

The name of the man involved in a shooting with an officer in Sharp County this morning has been released.

The Arkansas State Police says that 19 year old Jesse Hope of Ash Flat was airlifted  to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Hope’s vehicle collided with police cars this from the Highland and hardy Police department. Hope allegedly rammed his vehicle into the Red Mule Food mart in Highland.  The officer involved in the shooting was not injured.

Special agents of the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division are investigating the incident. Once the investigation is complete, ASP will submit its findings to the Sharp County prosecuting attorney who will determine if the use of force was consistent with state law.
