West Plains Bank and Trust Company Donates $100,000 to OMC Women’s Center Expansion West Plains, Mo. – West Plains Bank and Trust Company has made a $100,000 donation to the Ozarks Medical Center (OMC) Foundation “Building the Future” campaign benefitting the Women’s Center Expansion. According to West Plains Bank and Trust Company President/Chief Executive Officer David M. Gohn, the donation has been earmarked for the Women’s Center Expansion to honor the many female employees of the Bank and because of the great need for women’s health care locally. “Women are the largest consumers of health care and banking services, which makes supporting the Women’s Center Expansion a natural choice,” Gohn said. “The new 20,000 square foot Women’s Center will house modern labor and delivery rooms, gynecological surgery facilities and educational spaces all designed to improve the health and well-being of women throughout the region.” Gohn also said West Plains Bank and Trust Company is committed to supporting Ozarks Medical Center as the largest employer in the area. “Beyond the exceptional care provided to patients, Ozarks Medical Center has a huge impact on the local economy,” he explained. “OMC provides many jobs from housekeeping to nutrition services to nursing and medical staff thereby generating income for many area families who spend locally. The health care system also purchases goods and services from many local businesses, which helps drive revenue. It’s important that we appreciate and take care of this vital part of our local economic scene.” OMC Foundation Vice President for Advancement Carol Silvey expressed appreciation for the donation and noted that West Plains Bank and Trust Company has been an integral part of this community for more than a century. “During that time, the bank has distinguished itself for its philanthropic spirit and engagement in the community,” Silvey said. “It is, therefore, with pleasure and appreciation on behalf of all who will benefit from their most recent gift to the OMC Foundation that I thank the bank and their board of directors for their generosity. “By designating this gift for the women’s center, the bank will help revolutionize the care that OMC can provide for women‘s health and create a state of the art, baby delivery environment. Thank you to our friends at West Plains Bank and Trust Company.” According to OMC officials, the “Building the Future” expansion campaign was created to assist OMC in bringing many of their providers under one roof, expand the hospital to connect to the Shaw Medical Building, create a first ever state-of-the-art Women’s Center in the region and provide overall more convenient, compassionate care to all it serves.
