Two Ava residents have been arrested after a traffic stop by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department. When the deputy made the stop he recognized 28 year old Anthony Schmutzler, who had an active warrant for his arrest. After a search was granted for the rest of the car, illegal narcotics and paraphernalia were found. Schmutzler was also found to be in possession of additional drugs and paraphernalia. A passenger, 21 year old Billie Haden was also arrested and was held for 24 hours. Formal charges are pending for both.
