An Independence County man who was involved in an accident earlier this month has now passed away. 61 year old Walter Gene Watson was driving his motorized wheelchair on 6th street in Newark when the wheelchair was hit by a vehicle driven by Carolyn Sue Blue of Newark. Watson was taken to White River medical Center in Batesville then sent to UAMS In Little Rock where he passed away more than a week after the accident.
