Two men from Birch Tree were arrested by the Highway Patrol Thursday on felony drug charges. 45 year old John Waid was arrested for felony possession of controlled substance-meth, possession of 10 grams or less marijuana, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and failure to have 2 functioning tail lights. 61 year old Willard Boyd was arrested for two felony counts of possession of a controlled substance-meth and barbituates, possession of 10 grams or less marijuana, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and no seat belt. Both men were taken to Shannon County Jail and placed on a 24 hour hold.
