A woman from Thayer was injured in a two vehicle accident Monday morning around 9:15 at the intersection of highway 63 and business 63 in Thayer. According to reports from Thayer police, witnesses say , 30 year old Brittany Barbee of Thayer pulled the jeep she was driving from business 63 into the path of a semi and was hit in the driver’s side, causing it to overturn and ejecting Barbee from the vehicle. Barbee was flown by air-evac to Mercy Hospital in Springfield. The driver of the Semi, 46 year old Cornelius Newson of Memphis TN. was not injured. No Citations have been issued to either driver and the accident is still being investigated by Thayer police.
