Two people were injured in an accident east of Ava Friday afternoon. The Highway Patrol reports that 35 year old Jessica Rickman and 16 year old Grace Mathews both of Ava, both suffered moderate injuries when Mathews lost control of the vehicle she was driving, crossed the centerline and hit the vehicle that Rickman was driving. Both were taken to Cox Medical Center in Springfield. The accident happened on Missouri 14 about 3 and a half miles east of Ava.
