On June 25, 2019 at approximately 1850 hours Cpl. Taylor Wallace and Deputy Kobby Roberts located and arrested Jamie White age 39 in Western Douglas County. The Hollister PD had issued an endangered person advisory on Janet White and Ashlee Dean ages 16 and 14 on Monday June 24th after disappearing from their foster home. On the early morning hours of June 25, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office began receiving sighting reports of the trio in western Douglas County after the report was ran on local news stations. Sheriff Degase and deputies worked throughout the day attempting to locate them and made contact with several known associates of Jamie White. At Approximately 1830 hours the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office was advised of Jamie Whites location where she was arrested by Cpl. Taylor Wallace and Deputy Kobby Roberts at a residence on County Road 447 in Western Douglas County. White initially denied having or seeing the girls until she was confronted by Cpl. Taylor Wallace about the video of her and the girls at a rural store. After some time White agreed to take Cpl. Taylor Wallace and Deputy Kobby Roberts to the location of the girls. Deputies drove for approximately 20 minutes over a long stretch of county road and through a remote overgrown field until White told Deputies to stop. White was allowed to get out of the vehicle where she began yelling and the 2 girls finally came out of a heavily wooded area. Deputies then walked several hundred yards into the woods where they found no shelter, a small amount of food and a rubber raft.
White was released to Christian County authorities and the 2 girls were released into the custody of Children’s Division where they were taken to the Hollister Police Department. Charges will be requested in Douglas County for Jamie White for endangering the welfare of a child.
Sheriff Degase would like to thank the observant Citizens of Douglas County for all the phone calls and assistance in this case. “These girls were located because of the information received from the Citizens of Douglas County and the tenacity of Cpl. Taylor Wallace and Deputy Kobby Roberts in finding these 2 girls and never giving up.”
