
A Calico Rock man has been arrested after allegedly hitting an Izard County Deputy. According to reports 68 year old Daniel Perry was in an accident and was in an overturned vehicle. When the deputy attempted to help free from the vehicle, he rose to his feet and struck the deputy with his fist. A Second deputy then deployed a Phazzer knocking Perry down against his overturned vehicle. Perry allegedly broke the wire connections to the probes and began to advance towards a second deputy and again the Phazzer was deployed. The two deputies were then able to restrain him. Perry is charged with felony second degree battery, and misdemeanor counts of first degree assault, careless driving, DWI, resisting arrest and no seat belt. His bond was set at $10,000.
