
Ozarks Medical Center (OMC) has received statewide recognition for three projects produced by the healthcare system to educate and inform community and area residents.
The Show-Me Excellence Awards, presented annually by the Missouri Association for Healthcare Public Relations and Marketing (MAHPRM), recognize high achievement and superb quality in advertising, marketing and public relations projects produced by hospitals and healthcare systems throughout the state
Kim Wood, digital and media relations specialist, won first and third place awards in her first time entering the competition. She won first place in the category of Social/Interactive Media with the Christmas Social Media Engagements, which included a 12-day series of “Ozzy the Elf” and his journey of care at Ozarks Medical Center. Second and third place in the category went to University of Missouri Health Care-Columbia and Mosaic Life Care-St. Joseph.
Wood won third place in the category of Media Relations Activity for the Hospital Expansion Announcement. Saint Luke’s Health System-Kansas City and St. Louis Children’s Hospital won first and second place respectively.
Melissa Smith, marketing and public relations manager, brought home a first place award in the category of Special Purpose Publication for its 2018 OMC Medical Group Provider Directory. Second and third place in the category went to SSM Health-St. Louis and Children’s Mercy-Kansas City, respectively.
The awards were presented at the MAHPRM Summer Forum in June in Branson. A statewide panel of public relations and marketing professionals judged the 178 entries in this year’s competition.
