Gainesville Man Arrested After Pursuit In Baxter & Fulton Counties

A Rural Gainesville man was arrested in Fulton County Tuesday morning after a high speed chase that began in Baxter County. 25 year old Dylan Lawyer fled from police in Baxter County into Fulton County. He traveled through Gepp then turned on Enterprise Road, which is a dirt road. The police stopped the pursuit at that time because of the cloud of dust they could no longer see the vehicle. The then found the vehicle stopped on Enterprise road, but the driver had fled on foot. The vehicle had been stolen and there as a handgun in the vehicle. Lawyer was later captured in the back seat of a pickup at a road block. The driver of the pickup alerted police he was there. Lawyer is charged with felony, criminal attempt to commit aggravated burglary, felony aggravated assault, felony breaking or entering, felony fleeing, 2 counts of felony theft of property, felony possession of a firearm by certain persons, felony criminal mischief and an enhanced penalty for being a habitual offender. He is being held in Baxter County on $100,000 bond and will be in court tomorrow. He also has a hold from Fulton County for various charges that they will bring against him.  Lawyer has been booked in Baxter County Detention Center 7 times since 2011. He was currently out on bond on theft charges.
