The Izard County Sheriff’s Department is warning residents of a scam. They report that someone is calling residents saying they are with the sheriff’s department and the number on the id shows that it is the sheriff’s department. The caller ask for social security number and banking information. The caller also tells them that their vehicle was involved in a crime in another state. The Sheriff’s Department says this is a scam and to not give them any personal information.
