Two people were killed and one injured in an officer involved shooting Thursday morning in Stone County Arkansas. One of the dead is Stone County Deputy Mike Stephen. According to reports, Stephen was responding to a domestic situation on Flag Road about 17 miles west of Mountain View just after 8 a.m. Deputy Stephen was speaking with a woman when gunfire erupted. Another man was killed and the female injured in the shooting. Deputy Stephen was a 20 year law enforcement veteran and a veteran of the United States Army. He also was Chief of the Pineville Fire Department. Deputy Stephen and the suspect’s bodies were sent to the Arkansas State crime lab in Little rock. The suspects name is being withheld at this time.
