Independence County authorities have arrested two people after they allegedly left an infant in a locked vehicle. Officers responded to a 911 call around 11:30 p.m. and found the baby locked in the vehicle with the windows up and the motor off. They heard voices near a local creek but when they yelled, no one answered, so a deputy used his baton to break a window. The child was alert and awake but not crying or making any movements. The baby ws fed and it’s diaper changed, and placed in a patrol car to cool off where it became more active and started crying. The Mother and Father later appeared out of the woods. 45 year old Archove Noorhoek of Desha and 39 year old Stephanie Ormsbee-Blount were both arrested and charged with felony first degree endangering the welfare of a minor. The infant was taken to White River Medical Center and later released to personnel with the Arkansas Department of Human Services.
