On Monday Officers with the West Plains Police Department and the West Plains Fire Department responded to the Whispering Pines trailer park on State Route K for a report of a possible vehicle fire.
While officers and fire fighters were on scene, it was discovered the car reported to be on fire had been stolen from a residence on Cedar Lane. When Officers arrived at the residence on Cedar Lane, two additional vehicles were located which were also believed to be stolen.
A male suspect identified as Michael Bryant was later arrested at the trailer park in connection with the auto theft. Bryant was transported to the Howell County Jail and placed on a 24 hour hold pending the filing of formal charges of Tampering and Burglary.
