A Former Winona City Clerk is in jail after pleading guilty to misappropriating city funds. Terri Denton was sentenced to 7 years in prison but will spend only 30 days in jail and face 5 years probation. Denton allegedly misappropriated at least $500. During an audit the state auditor’s office discovered that thousands of dollars were not deposited while Denton was working as the City Clerk. She was charged with felony receiving stolen property in 2015.
