Police in Thayer are investigating the theft of several items from Hirsch Feed and Farm Supply on July 28th. The Suspect arrived at the store around 11 p.m Sunday night and spent about 4 and a half hours loading stolen property. Police in Pocahontas recovered the abandoned box trailer and described the suspect as a male about 6 feet tall between 50 and 60 years old with a small pot belly, clean cut with short hair. Property stolen includes 800 green white top post, 27 rolls of 12.5 gauge barb wire and a bar 6 1,800 pound feed dispenser. Hirsch Feed and Farm Supply is offering to pay a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect in the case.
