A man from Cherokee Village has been arrested for assault. 26 year old Austin Smith allegedly assaulted a female victim leaving her with a black eye, swollen nose, two large lacerations on head and marks around her neck. The incident allegedly happened in May in Cherokee Village but he probable cause affidavit was not filed until this past Thursday. Smith is charged with felony aggravated assault on a family or household member. His bond was set at $5,000.
