An Independence County man has been arrested after speeding past a sheriff’s deputy. 36 year old Timothy Roberson was stopped and a vehicle check was conducted after a he told the deputy he had a handgun in the vehicle. Roberson was driving while suspended and was a convicted felon so he is prohibited from possessing a gun. Authorities are requesting he be charged as an habitual offender. His bond was set at $10,000.
