A traffic stop for not wearing a seat belt leads to a drug arrest in Independence County. 47 year old Paul Curtis King of Jamestown was stopped on Newport Road. Authorities say King was acting suspicious. The deputy noticed a baggie in King’s mouth. He was told to spit it out and the baggie tested positive for meth. A search of the vehicle turned up a glass smoking device and a hypodermic syringe. King is charged with felony possession of meth, felony possession of drug paraphernalia, tampering with evidence in a felony investigation and not using a seat belt.
