Suspect In Shooting Incident In Ripley County In Custody

Authorities are investigating a shooting incident in Ripley County. According to the Missouri State highway patrol the incident happened around 1 Sunday afternoon and started as a domestic dispute. the Ripley County Sheriff’s office receive a call saying a man had shot a woman outside Patsy’s Convenience Store on highway 160, east of Doniphan. The woman was shot in the hand and was transported to an area hospital and the man fled the scene. The suspect was spotted by the highway patrol and a pursuit began when he failed to stop. The Suspect drove through a fence and into a wooded area and tried to cross a creek. He then drove out of the creek and rammed a Ripley County Patrol car. The vehicle became disabled and the suspect ran into a pond where he was captured. The incident is being investigated by the Missouri Highway patrol and the Ripley County Sheriff’s Office. Two deputies suffered minor injuries in the pursuit. The suspects name has not been released.
