A Benefit Is Planned For Deputy Shot In The Line Of Duty

A benefit is being planned for Carter County Deputy Brigg Pierson. Pierson was shot multiple times back in August near Van Buren. Pierson and a Highway patrolman was serving an eviction notice when 31 year old James Cummings of Van Buren shot him. Trooper Caleb McCoy was also shot in his protective vest. Peirson continues to recover and now is able to get up and walk and is working on physical therapy. Officer Pierson also worked as a police officer in Mountain View. He has a wife and two children. Pierson has been unable to work since the shooting. On October 19th there will be a benefit silent auction beginning at 1 pm at the Mountain View Elementary.  A dinner will be served at 5 pm and live auction starts at 6:30 All proceeds from the event go directly to the Pierson Family
