Mountain Home Man Sentenced In Beating Of Gassville Man

A Mountain home man accused of beating a Gassville man in May had most of the serious charges against him dropped. 20 year old Jonathan Cole Smith Jr was one of two men who allegedly attacked and beat a Gassville man. Smith was initially charged with kidnapping, aggravated assault, aggravated robbery, theft of property, terroristic threatening, possession of firearms by a felon, first degree battery and residential burglary. Most of those charges were dropped and Smith was sentenced to 10 years in prison with 6 years to serve and 4 suspended.
