A man from Thayer who was an inmate in Lawrence County escaped custody on Tuesday afternoon . Authorities say 28 year old Spencer Langston escaped during transport to St Bernards Behavioral Health. He was last seen asking people for money on Eldridge Street in Jonesboro. Langston was arrested last week near Black Rock for allegedly assaulting an officer. Authorities say he was wearing green scrubs and he has a 417 tattoo across the back of his head. Langston is considered a violent offender with a history of arrest.
