West Plains Police Are Investigating Two Shooting Incidents

On 10/21/2019, the West Plains Police Department received two reports of possible shots fired in residential areas. The first call came in at approximately 10:40 AM and the second call was received by dispatch at approximately 2:10 PM.

The first incident occurred at a residence on Lincoln Avenue. Witnesses say an unknown suspect driving a maroon four door car pulled alongside the residence on the street and fired shots at the house striking it multiple times. The unknown shooter then fled from the area north bound. No injuries were reported.

The second incident occurred in the Crestwood Circle Neighborhood. Witnesses say a male in a maroon Toyota Camry fired three shots at their vehicle and then fled the area east bound past the West Plains High School. Due to the close proximity of the incident, all West Plains schools were placed on a lock down. No injuries were reported.

The suspect vehicle in the second incident was later located and two suspects have been arrested as part of the investigation. It is unknown at this time if these shootings are related. Both shootings are still under investigation.
