A man from Ava was injured in an accident Sunday in Newton County. The Highway Patrol says that 25 year old Zachary Cross suffered moderate injuries when he drove off the road and hit a culvert and a fence. Cross was taken to Freeman West hospital and he was also charged with driving while intoxicated, no valid plates, careless and imprudent driving and no seat belt.
