Missouri Preservationist have found the cabin which was the inspiration for the Grand Ole opry as described by Opry founder George D Haye. It is called the Hoe Down Cabin and Bill Hart of Missouri Preservation is working to protect the sight just south of Thayer

George D Haye wrote about the cabin, he was radio personality who founded the Original Grand Ole Opry program on WSM AM in Nashville Tennessee.
