
A Batesville man has been arrested after getting into a fight with a school resource officer. 44 year old Billy Wayne Rhoades allegedly left his vehicle unoccupied in a lane for picking up school children. When he was confronted by the officer and asked to move the vehicle he allegedly slammed the vehicle’s door in the officer’s face and put the vehicle in gear with children in the back seat, unbuckled and the doors open Rhoades sped away, then alter when the officer went to pick him up at his residence, the two got into a physical altercation. Rhoades was eventually arrested and is charged with felony first degree endangering the welfare of a child, felony second degree battery and felony fleeing. He also faces misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct, reckless driving and resisting arrest.
