A Walnut Ridge teen has been arrested after a baby was taken to the hospital. 19 year old Rains Rayann Everett was arrested on suspicion of battery first degree knowingly causing serious injury to a person under 5 years old. Extreme indifference to the value of human life. The five week old baby was taken to a Jonesboro hospital then transferred to LeBonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis. The hospital found the baby had bruising on the back, possible metaphysical fractures of the lower extrtemities with no significant history of trauma. The child’s father told police that Everett put her hands around the child’s rib cage area and shook the child prior to the infant going limp. Everett is being held on $100,000 bond and will be in court February 28th.
