
Thursday, Governor Mike Parson announced that the Missouri Department of Public Safety has awarded 106 Missouri law enforcement agencies a total of more than $700,000 in grants to purchase essential equipment used by officers, including ballistic vests, first aid and trauma kits, police radios, light bars, and sirens. Several local law enforcement agencies were among those to receive the grants. West Plains Police gets $9,976.72, Cabool Police Department gets $9,194.96, Ripley County Sheriff’s Department gets $3,655, the Summersville Police department gets $1,924.77 and Van Buren Police Department gets $7,987.50. The grants are designed to help protect officers and increase safety across Missouri.
