Gov. Mike Parson announced on Wednesday that $180 million would be restricted from the state budget to accommodate the need to buy emergency supplies such as personal protective equipment. Parson said he is hopeful that they might receive an additional $315million in federal funding to alleviate the economic shortfall, but more restrictions to the state budget might be necessary.
The restrictions affect the budgets for the Department for Higher education and workforce development, the department of transportation, the office of administration, the department of natural resources and the department for economic development. The Judicial and Secretary of State departments will also be finding savings in their own budgets.
