MO HealthNet Director Todd Richardson announced on Wednesday that Missouri will have its first alternate care site operational before the end of the week. He said they are using hotels as opposed to large arena-like facilities like other states have done because it allows for a more efficient response.
The National Guard is also evaluating other regions that might face high demand for hospital beds to create these alternate care facilities.
