Howell County Health Department has released that the 5th case of COVID-19 within Howell County has been identified. The individual that tested positive is a teenage female residing in the Mountain View area. Agency Director, Chris Gilliam, states that contact tracing has been initiated and that close contacts to the case are being evaluated and quarantined. Gilliam adds, “Statistically adults are more likely to get infected, but as this case shows, teens can become infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus which causes the COVID-19 illness.
