On Monday the number of COVID-19 cases jumped by 368, the highest one-day increase recorded yet. The Director of the Department of Health and Senior Services Randall Williams says this is because the state has increased testing overall.
Williams also says that the jump in cases is inflated by new cases from the Triumph meat processing plant in St. Joseph Missouri. He says many of the new cases were asymptomatic people. Because of the additional testing capacity in Missouri, more asymptomatic people were tested and found to have the virus.
