
Under the federal CARES act Missouri will receive $66 million in funding for child care assistance. Jennifer Tidball, the acting director of the Missouri Department of Senior Services, said on Wednesday that this money will be used to help low income families access subsidized child care. The act will also provide a one-time payment to childcare facilities depending on their hours and capacities.
CARES also allocated $1.5 million to serve food banks and $1.8 million to help victims of crime such as domestic violence or child welfare cases
