A West Plains School employee has been arrested on child pornography charges. 29 year old Cody Ashton Ary was charged in federal court with soliciting children to send him sexually explicit photos and videos through snapchat and Instagram. Ary faces charges of one count of producing child pornography. Law enforcement executed a search warrant at Ary’s residence on Wednesday . The charges in this complaint are simply an accusation and not evidence of guilt. Evidence supporting the charge must be presented to a federal trial jury. The West Plains School district issued a statement last night after his arrest.

District officials received notification from law enforcement authorities on May 20, 2020 regarding an employee’s misconduct, which occurred outside of the district and did not involve any students. Our first priority is the safety of our students, and the district strives to keep students, parents and our community informed within the confines of the law. The district is unable to release confidential information pertaining to personnel. Any ongoing investigation is being handled by the proper legal authorities, and any additional questions regarding the specific incident in question should be directed to law enforcement officials.
