Sharp County Corner Rene Clay-Circle confirms that 39 year old Melissa Summit’s body was recovered on Monday afternoon around 12:20pm on Spring River at High Falls.
Sharp County Sheriff’s office received a call around 4:00 Sunday Afternoon stating that a subject went underwater and never resurfaced. Crews from Hardy Police, Fire, Water and Rescue, and the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission Swift Water Rescue team responded to the call and called the search off at dark. Crews continued work around 6:30 Monday morning where crews found the subjects body.
Reports say that a group were floating down the river when a member of the group went below the falls and never resurfaced.
