One Of The Men Killed In A Lawrence County Accident Was A Police Officer

28 year old Zachary Barton, who was a former Lawrence County Deputy, Black Rock Police Officer and was Currently a Jonesboro Police Officer was killed when his Jeep Was Hit Head-on By a van driven by 38 year old Nicholas McCarroll of Walnut Ridge. McCarroll was also killed in the crash. Elaina Barton Suffered serious injuries and was taken to the Med in Memphis.

Two people died in a two vehicle accident last night in Lawrence County. The Arkansas State Police reports that 38 year old Nicholas McCarroll of Walnut Ridge and 28 year old Zachary Barton of Walnut Ridge were both killed when McCarroll crossed the centerline and hit the vehicle that Barton was driving head-on. 28 year old Elaina Barton of Walnut Ridge was injured and was taken from the scene to the Med in Memphis. The accident happened around 9:30 Sunday night on Highway 63 near Portia.
