The Arkansas State police has been asked to investigate an officer involved shooting that happened Wednesday in Sharp County. According to the police reports, officers were called to residence near Hardy Wednesday evening around 6:45 and 28 year old Jerod White of Ash Flat exited the house with a gun and fired at officers. The officer was not injured and retreated from the area and requested additional law enforcement. White then went to a camper trailer and stayed there until police were able to contact him and tried to convince him to surrender. White then allegedly exited the trailer brandishing a gun and fire again at officers, Deputies returned fire injuring White. He was flown from the scene to an area Hospital in Stable condition. A Hardy Police Officer along with an officer from Highland PD and two Sharp County deputies allegedly all fire their guns at White. None of the officers were injured. The Arkansas State Police Are Investigating the incident.
