A former priest in West Plains and Thayer now faces additional charges of sexual misconduct. The Diocese of Springfield-Cape Girardeau announced that they have received three additional allegations against Fr Gary Carr. Fr Carr was pastor at St Mary Parish in West Plains and Sacret Heart Mission Church in Thayer and at St Mary Catholic school in West Plains in 1999. One of the allegations involved a male in Jasper County, now an adult, who reported that Fr. Carr made inappropriate physical/sexual contact with him in 1987. Another allegation involved a male in Butler County, now an adult, who reported that Fr. Carr made inappropriate physical/sexual contact with him in the early 1990s. A third male also from Butler County, now an adult, reported that Fr. Carr made inappropriate physical/sexual contact with him in the early 1990s. Father Carr is retired and resides in St. Louis. He was also Pastor, St. Mark Parish, Houston, MO; St. John the Baptist Mission Church, Licking, MO; St. Vincent de Paul Mission Church, Roby, MO in 1996 and was also a pastor at several other churches across southern Missouri.
