First Covid Death in Howell County

The Howell County Health Department reported the first death of a Howell County resident due to COVID-19.  The individual was a male in his 90’s who resided in the West Plains area.

Howell County Health Department reports that an additional four cases of COVID-19 cases have been identified in the county.

This brings the year to date total of cases to 117.  There are currently 44 known active cases in the county and 3 individuals are hospitalized with COVID related complications.  All four cases are isolating at home and following public health guidance.

Three of the individuals reside in the West Plains area while on lives in the Peace Valley area.  The investigations into these cases indicate that one case is travel related, one is linked to a known case and one is considered community spread.

There were no identified exposures to the public within the county, with any of these cases.

Statewide in Missouri 44,823 cases have been reported, an increase of 1773, with 1213 deaths. Oregon county reports 12 cases, Shannon with 41, Ripley has 38, Texas-23, Ozark 5, Douglas 53 and Carter with 10.

 

In Arkansas officials reported an increase 734 cases on Tuesday for a total 40,181 with 428 deaths. 33,188 have recovered from the virus. Fulton county has 23 confirmed cases, Baxter has 56, Sharp-89, Izard county has34.
