2 Chiefs Starters “Opt-out”

The Kansas City Chiefs wrap up their first week of training camp today in KC. 2 starters from the Superbowl winning team from last season have announced they will “opt out” this season.

Starting offensive lineman Laurent Duvernay-Tardif announced earlier this week he would opt-out this season to continue to help his patients during the pandemic, he is a doctor.

Yesterday, starting running back Damien Williams decided to sit out the season, stating his mother had just been diagnosed with cancer, and he needed to be there for her.
