The Howell County Sheriff’s Department says that the scammers are at it again! They’re calling people and identifying themselves as a deputy from the sheriff’s office and telling people they have a warrant and if they don’t want to be arrested, they need to pay a certain amount right then! Folks, this is a scam! The Sheriff’s Department does not call people and tell them they have a warrant nor do they take payments for warrants over the phone!
