There as a fire at the Cherokee Elementary School on Monday according to reports from the school, an electrical fire started as the students were being dismissed. The students had actually had a fire drill earlier that day. The fire was quickly put out and no one was injured. The source of the fire appeared to be where the power line connects to the building on the roof. Officials said the school still smells like smoke so the students will have a remote day today from home. Teachers faculty and staff will be at the school today.
