Over the weekend the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department arrested two people after a traffic stop on highway 14. 29-year-old Laura Bengtson of Ava and 56-year-old James Frye of Squires were both arrested and charged with two counts of felony possession of a controlled substance meth, and felony possession of a controlled substance heroin. Both have a criminal history; Frye was on probation. His bond was set at a capias no bond. Bengston had outstanding warrants on drug charges.
