After the first day of the U.S. Open at Winged Foot Golf Club in New York, Justin Thomas is all alone in first place shooting 5 under Thursday, giving him a one stroke lead over Matthew Wolf, Thomas Pieters and Patrick Reed who all shot 4 under Thursday. Three other players are tied at 3 under. Some of golf’s biggest names did not do so well on day one of the open. Golf’s Number 1 ranked player Dustin Johnson shot 3 over, Tiger Woods also shot 3 over and Phil Mickelson struggled and shot 9 over.
