The St. Louis Cardinals got a home-run from Matt Carpenter, but that’s all they could score as the Redbirds lost to the Kansas City Royals at Kauffman Stadium last night 4-1. Maikel Franco had the big blow for the Royals, a go-ahead RBI single in the 6th. The Cards got the lead off man on in the 9th, but couldn’t chase him home.
The Cardinals and Royals play again tonight in Kansas City, game 2 of the three game series.
