A Lawrence County man has been arrested for allegedly trying to cash fake paychecks. 46-year-old Scott McGarry of Powhattan, allegedly attempted to open accounts in Jonesboro using fake checks, then withdraw cash. He allegedly attempted to make fraudulent deposits totaling more than $10,000. He was arrested by Jonesboro PD and taken to jail awaiting formal charges.
